
The CIBC Biz Pitch Competition™ brings together some of Canada’s most innovative entrepreneurs for a chance to pitch their businesses on a national stage. Created in partnership with the Women’s Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH), the competition supports founders at every stage, from student entrepreneurs to growing companies, with the opportunity to gain valuable exposure, build new connections, and compete for $45,000 CAD in cash prizes.
Entrepreneurial Success Story of the Year
$20,000 CAD
Recognizing established Canadian businesses that have demonstrated sustained growth, expanded into new markets, and created meaningful long-term impact.
Start-Up of the Year
$10,000 CAD
For businesses less than two years old that are building innovative solutions, gaining traction, and preparing for future growth.
Promising Student Entrepreneur of the Year
$10,000 CAD
For currently enrolled post-secondary students with an existing venture or an idea that is being developed into a business.
Most Popular Vote
$5,000 CAD
A special audience award open to finalists from the three main categories. The winner is selected through votes from the live pitch event audience and additional voting after the event.
Applications are now open. Entrepreneurs from across Canada are invited to share their stories, pitch their ventures, and compete for funding, expert coaching, and national exposure. Apply by August 31, 2026.
Who can apply
The competition is open to Canadian entrepreneurs across all industries and backgrounds. To be eligible you must:
✓Be a resident of Canada and have reached the age of majority in your province or territory
✓Own or co-found an eligible business legally registered and headquartered in Canada
✓Not be an employee of CIBC or WEKH, or an immediate family member
✓Meet the specific requirements for your chosen category
