Boston based Pillar VC has launched a $1 million Moonshot Global Startup Competition aimed at university affiliated founders around the world. This is a VC Funding or Equity Investment opportunity.
The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty members. Eligible teams must include at least one founder currently affiliated with a university.
Selected startups will compete for a $1 million grand prize, with an additional $250,000 award also up for grabs, positioning the initiative as a significant funding opportunity for academic entrepreneurs ready to scale bold ideas.
The Pillar VC $1M Moonshot Competition provides funding as equity investments in the form of uncapped SAFEs ($1M or $250K), which convert into equity upon a future priced round, diluting founders’ ownership.
